ABOUT ME:
In a nut shell…
I’ve experienced the twists and turns of successfully climbing the corporate ladder changing jobs, industries, and career directions
I’ve navigated a divorce with 2 tiny toddlers and later found my soul mate, overcoming the challenges of a blended family in the process
I’ve been challenged by the incredible highs and frustrating lows of being a full-time stay-at-home mom (and chauffeur) plus part-time Board Member and volunteer
I’ve relaunched my career after a ‘short’ career break morphed into an extended 14 year career gap
I’ve shifted gears yet again to assume full-time elder care responsibilities and then dealt with the profound loss of both of my parents in short succession
Through it ALL I have created a life full of purpose, joy and passion. I want to help YOU do the same!
To make a long story short(ish)…
Like many of you, I have experienced the disillusionment, exhaustion, confusion and paralysis that life’s twists and turns can manifest in us. Burnout, career change, parenthood, divorce, bereavement, career break, relaunch… life shifts beneath our feet, and I have experienced ALL of these plot twists. Change is destabilizing. But it can also be transformative. These moments of transition offer incredible opportunity, provided we allow ourselves to move forward.
A successful pivot first requires a pause. Trying to solve a thinking problem with immediate action simply doesn’t work. I learned this important lesson during my first major career shift. By taking time to allow the fog of uncertainty and exhaustion to lift and embrace the confusion, ambiguity, and questions that surfaced, important insights were possible. I channeled my energy into redefining my priorities, reassessing my core values and strengths, and thinking less about what everyone thought I ‘should’ do and more about what I really wanted.
Reinventing yourself is not for the faint of heart. Recruiters love to put “square pegs in square holes” – let’s face it, that’s an easier puzzle for them to solve. Friends and family love to offer up solutions based on their own experience. But when you are trying to transition, to make changes that align with your core values and vision, you need to dig deep to determine what you truly want and then fight hard to make sure your voice is heard and that it guides the actions you take.
I would pivot multiple times in my professional and personal life, learning as much from my mistakes as my successes. I bring those insights and expertise to my coaching practice.
I became a professional coach so that I could help others successfully embrace, create and navigate change in their lives, enabling them to reinvent and relaunch themselves - as many times as necessary!
As Ralph Waldo Emerson once said, “life is a journey, not a destination.” To partner with me on your journey, please contact me to set up an introductory coaching conversation.
